Obviously, the respondants are neither working writers nor editors. I dare say I must read the equivalent of 300 books a year in manuscript form alone. As to published books? I average one per week. I used to average one per day when I wasn’t in the biz.

I’ve never totted up the amount of manuscripts I read in a year. I do, like you, read a book a week though — doses of which are taken in five minute chunks, as I’ll explain later in today’s blog post.
